Accessibility

We want StitchHow's calculators and reference pages to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or other assistive technology.

What we build toward

Every interactive control on the site — calculator inputs, buttons, navigation links — targets a minimum 44x44 pixel tap area on both axes, not just height, so the site is usable comfortably on a touchscreen as well as with a mouse or keyboard. Navigation is available and usable at every screen width, including on mobile, not hidden behind JavaScript that only appears above a certain breakpoint. Numeric results use a distinct, clearly legible numeral style so computed figures are easy to scan against surrounding text.

Known limitations

We're a small, actively maintained site, and accessibility is ongoing work rather than a box we've checked once. If you hit a genuine barrier using any calculator or page, we want to know specifically what happened and what assistive technology you were using.

Reporting an issue

Use the contact page to report an accessibility problem. Specifics — which page, what you were trying to do, what happened instead — help us fix it faster than a general note.
